Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was on the agenda on Sunday come hell or high water, Death Eaters or the Dark Lord. With tickets booked online and my two kids in tow, we made it down for a Sunday afternoon session at one of Greater Union Cinema’s Senstadiums. Senstadium being a normal cinema with bigger screen and bigger sound, but still got a sore butt on their seats watching this 2 hour and 33 minute long epic.

I enjoyed the attention to detail with the settings in most of the scenes. That old worldy English village and town atmosphere is so charming. Especially on the big screen.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince has been released. Last weekend of the school holidays in South Australia. So I think the kids will have a great treat seeing the latest movie in the Harry Potter saga. Here’s some behinds the scenes footage. Enjoy!

JK Rowling and The Tales of Beedle the Bard JK Rowling’s latest volume, “the Tales of Beedle the Bard” have been flying off the shelves since midnight Wednesday in London.

It’s a collection of five fairy stories for wizards. Harry Potter devotees will be glad since JK Rowling produced the seventh and final volume in the series last year.

With no more Harry Potter stories to look forward to, the tales will give fans a welcome, short-term fix of a world they thought they’d lost.

They are written, the author assures us, by a 15th-century wizard, and translated from the original runes by Hermione Grainger, with sage commentary by Albus Dumbledore, the late lamented head of Hogwarts.
